My goal: keep the story of Christmas so simple that a child could understand it. I purposely refer to Christ as a child, an infant, a babe; I mention that he too had to grow up, and that he too was born as a small baby.

Oh my baby, oh my baby
Let me tell you a story now
Love embodied in a Baby
Born a God among men

Sheep and oxen and cattle watched him
Still and calm, their heads did bow
A star burned bright, it lit the sky
Where angels sang upon clouds:

Holy, Holy infant Babe
Child of God, a world to save
Peace is finally here to stay
Christ your King was born today

His name was Jesus, His name was Jesus
He grew up taller, like you will
He loved His mother, obeyed His father
But He had more to do still

Noel, Noel! My child I cannot tell you
All that the Christ Child has done
But as you listen, you will feel each Christmas
The power of His love

For you see, my babe only He was able
to take the sins of me and you
He died but then He lived again
Now he's gone back to Heaven to save us room.
